Running In Rust

Sunday, November 15, 2015

This past Veteran's Day, my boyfriend and I had a free day from school and work so we decided to venture off into LA and have a spontaneous day out. Originally, we wanted to go to The Broad since everyone and their mom has been there already. But I guess everybody else had the same idea as us and once we got there, the line wrapped around the outside of the building! So... change of plans! We decided to walk right across the street to the Walt Disney Concert Hall and shot a few pictures there.

(Okay yes, I did basically force my boyfriend into becoming my photographer for my blog, but I love that he's always willing to have a fun shoot with me! But that also means I have to get some good shots of him too of course, haha.)

The color rust is basically the epitome of this Autumn season. It reminds me of the leaves changing colors during this time of year. Even though, realistically, you don't really see many in Los Angeles. But a girl can dream, right? I can at least dress in fall attire and still enjoy the crisp, chilly mornings here in California.

This sweater from Brandy has easily become a staple in my wardrobe for this season. It's comfy, easy to pair with just about anything and makes every outfit stand out. Also, it's lightweight material surprisingly managed to keep me warm during the chilly weather! As you can tell, I wanted this sweater to be the focal point of this entire outfit so pairing it with some white knee-cut jeans was perfect. I would've never thought I'd be one to wear white jeans, but to my surprise, I've found myself wanting to wear them with almost every outfit! They're definitely a classic piece to have in your closet. And to bring this entire outfit together, I had to pair it with a classic black hat and black booties. This was such a comfy outfit to walk around downtown LA in and will definitely be one of my go-to outfits this Fall!

And lastly, I have to mention my lovely boyfriend, Ryan! He's wearing a simple white tee and black knee-cut jeans. So to give his look some dimension, I suggested that he wear his olive jacket, which is a perfect addition since olive is a great color for fall as well. His reflective blue/green sunglasses also give a nice pop to the entire look. And of course, none of his outfits are complete without throwing on his favorite hat, which I call his "Justin Bieber" hat.
